ICT Zero-to-One: English Study Hub
A structured English ICT beginner path: observe candles, swings, ranges and market states before naming premium, discount, imbalance and liquidity.
This is the English beginner entry point for studying ICT concepts in a stable order. It is a curated route through existing English lessons and concept pages, not a direct translation of every Chinese page and not an execution system.
The first job is to describe what the chart shows. The second is to use ICT language to organize that observation. The third is to record what the label cannot prove. Keep those layers separate before moving to the Pro-only ICT 2016 continuation and Advanced Path.
Recommended order
- Start Here — separate observation, framework interpretation and prediction.
- Candles, Swings and Ranges — establish the chart's minimum reading language.
- Market States — describe expansion, retracement, reversal and consolidation.
- ICT / SMC Learning Path — place ICT vocabulary around the neutral structure layer.
- Trading Range Structure — choose a range before naming relative location.
- Premium and Discount — read the midpoint without treating location as a signal.
- Imbalance and Reference Areas — describe fast repricing and FVG language conditionally.
- Liquidity References and Path Structure — inspect the structure between price and a reference.
- ICT 2016 Study Notes — continue into the curated unit sequence after the foundation is stable.
Four questions for every page
| Layer | Question |
|---|---|
| Observation | What did the selected market, timeframe and range actually show? |
| Framework | Which ICT or price-action term organizes that observation? |
| Unknown | What remains unproven about intent, motive or the next move? |
| Boundary | What would invalidate the description or justify pausing the review? |
Write the range and timeframe beside every premium, discount, FVG or liquidity label. The same price can have a different relative location on another timeframe or inside another range.
What this beginner path does not do
This path does not turn discount into a buy instruction, premium into a sell instruction, a sweep into a required reversal, or an FVG into a guaranteed fill. OTE, killzones, fixed session schedules, entries, stops, targets and position sizing belong to later review contexts and remain conditional.
When the evidence is mixed, “insufficient evidence; review again” is a complete beginner answer. Do not add a more advanced label just to remove uncertainty.
Continue after the foundation
After the beginner route, use ICT 2016 Study Notes for the historical concept sequence. Units 001–002 are free previews; Unit 003 onward requires Pro access. Use the ICT Advanced Path only after the foundation and the ICT 2016 review habits are in place.
